The BOLD Society is national virtual health and self-empowerment community, linking cis and trans women across generations with each other. The BOLD Society brings together cutting edge technology with “good old” trusted personal relationships established across generations, classes, racial groups and geography. The BOLD Society’s focus is on cis and trans, young women impacted by chronic adversity, violence, and injustice. Members of the BOLD Society will have an opportunity to expand their social capital through connections to other members, who will share their knowledge, skills and networks. The BOLD Society app includes profiles, community walls, photo galleries, advice forums, and connections to crisis text lines. The BOLD Society’s goals are to support the self-empowerment of cis and trans women by providing opportunities for them to reduce their social isolation; improve in their overall health and safety; increase their access to resources; enhance their social and emotional learning and executive function skills; strengthen their bonding, bridging, and linking social capital; achieving their health, education, personal, and financial goals; and increasing their civic engagement.
